Chiller Service and Maintenance

Like any other plant which supplies a critical resource, chillers should be maintained on a regular basis. Any failure due to poor chiller maintenance will undoubtedly lead to major business disruption and expense.

Routine chiller service now also includes mandatory refrigerant leak testing, part of the new so called FGAS Legislation.

Water chillers are by no means a new phenomenon and over the years, have operated with a variety of refrigerants, most of which have now been banned for environmental reasons.

Current legislation is phasing out Refrigerant R22, and the huge number of chillers currently in operation with this refrigerant are having their days numbered. It is imperative that operators start to take note of the phase out dates and consider their options.

In many cases it will be possible to retrofit R22 with an acceptable refrigerant, or in extreme cases it will be prudent to replace the chiller.

Coolmation has a range of replacement chillers and Service4Chillers, Coolmations chiller service and maintenance organisation, is an approved specialist refrigerant replacement organisation.
